Dental issues can become more severe and costly the longer you wait to treat them.

If you’ve got a cavity, a dental filling is usually the best solution. In a filling, Dr. Luminais will numb your mouth, remove decayed tooth material, and then fill up the tooth with a special composite material that restores its shape, function, and appearance. We use tooth-colored fillings at our office, which match the surrounding tooth perfectly.
If you’ve got a toothache, you may have an infected tooth, which will require treatment with root canal therapy. In a root canal, your dentist will clean and open up the tooth, then remove infected and damaged pulp from the inside. Then, they’ll seal and cap it to protect it from future damage. This gets you out of pain, and protects your tooth from further damage for years to come.
Dental crowns are made of tooth-like porcelain, and are built to look just like real teeth. They're placed over a damaged tooth once it’s been trimmed and prepared. The crown covers your real tooth all the way down to the gumline. Basically, it replaces your natural tooth, and protects your remaining tooth material from further damage. Crowns are often used to repair broken and severely decayed teeth, and to cover up teeth after root canal therapy.
Dental bridges replace a row of one or more missing teeth. They use two dental crowns, which attach to healthy teeth. Between these two crowns, a “pontic” (false tooth) is suspended, replacing your missing tooth. Dental bridges are durable, long-lasting, and will never move or shift, making them a great option for replacing missing teeth.
We offer both full and partial dentures in Bogalusa at Brightly Dental. Partial dentures consist of one or more false teeth, which are built into a metal and plastic framework. This framework attaches to your real teeth. These hold the dentures in place and restore your smile and your bite.
Full dentures are a little different. They consist of a full row of teeth, placed into a gum-colored acrylic base. You can get full dentures for the upper, lower, or both rows of teeth. They're only recommended if you have severe tooth damage. That’s because they must fit directly over your gums, and require all of your remaining teeth to be pulled, even if they're healthy.
To begin your consultation, Dr. Luminais will perform a comprehensive oral exam and diagnosis, complete with x-ray imaging. They will diagnose your condition, determine the extent of the damage to your tooth, and identify the right treatment for your specific needs.
There are lots of different ways to treat damaged teeth, ranging from simple fillings to extracting and replacing missing teeth. Our team will work with you to develop a treatment plan that’s right for your budget, your schedule, and the specific oral health challenges that you’re facing.
In some cases, we may be able to provide restorative care right away, such as an emergency root canal for a severely infected tooth. But after your initial consultation, you’ll usually need to schedule follow-ups with the team at Brightly Dental to get the restorative care you need.
Come to our office as scheduled. Our doctors and our team will take great care of you, and make sure you get the treatment you need to eliminate pain, restore your bite, and feel proud of your smile once again.
